At first, I must admit it was a bit overwhelming to reminisce on an early childhood memory, mostly seeing as I still am just only sixteen and sometimes still think of myself as one. However as I kept reminiscing I stumbled upon what at my kindergarten self happened to be one of the most important days of my life.

Despite my cute smile as a little girl I was always a trouble maker. I was very sassy and bratty and felt as if I was entitled to everything. Up to this day my aunt's and uncles remind me of my mischievous ways and how short tempered I was. In fact my eldest sister, Gisselle, and I were even nicknamed "las diablitos" which in English means little devils when we were little.

I remember that, I'd always be doing something whether it was stealing my great uncle's walking cane with Gisselle, or even getting into trouble myself by disobeying my parents or screaming and yelling at my relatives until I got what I wanted. So of course once I started school it was hard adapting to an environment in which I couldn't behave the way I was used to.

So, imagine my surprise when I became
Kidstone Kid of the Day in kindergarten. I was sooo excited and so were my parents of me. This was a great accomplishment since every classroom got to nominate one student on their astonishing behavior and grades. It just so happened that I, ME!! was chosen. There was a special chair which was red a sequenced in which the Kidstone kid would sit on and a shiny gold sequenced crown which they also got to wear.

I remember feeling like I had won at life by the simple fact that I, Jennifer Huerta, a previous trouble maker had been given the privilege ,because that was what it felt like, to sit on that glorious chair and wear that crown. The simple fact that I had been chosen taught me that good behavior got rewarded and was one of the first times I remember being prideful in myself.
o Wow! You were quite the trouble maker back in the day. Stealing your grandfather's cane! Bruh, how was he supposed to get around- you wild. Also, what school you go to because my school didn't have a "kid of the day"... Anyways, I really enjoyed reading your blog, gave me a little chuckle.
